Soundtracks Festival

Soundtracks Festival celebrates the East to South London section of the Overground by exploring unique venues along this line from Dalston to Peckham as well as making use of the trains for busker type gigs along the way. The second installation of the festival took place in on Saturday 11th May,  and despite the murky grey weather and last minute promotion, crowds turned up to discover the venues and spaces explored by the festival.

It has to be said that this is more of a celebration of a spatial concept, developed by a team with an architecture background rather than a musical one. The bands playing this year were basically unknown,  so it is encouraging to see that the festival attracted crowds inspired by the strong concept without being deterred by a somewhat shaky musical line-up.
Entirely funded by ticket sales and with minimal support from TFL, the Soundtracks crew have managed to organise a pretty complex, multi-venue event and obtain support from local shops and cafes along the way.
