(S)potted: Freshly Scratched

Battersea Arts Centre has opened up the opportunity for performance  artists and companies to try out work in progress in font of a ‘supportive’ audience, Freshly Scratched.  This follows a growing trend for audiences to be invited to view work in early stage development before it is polished for  professional productions. What is the appeal? The obvious positive is that the crowd will be predimintaly made up of the other performers testing out their material on the night, so an audience of professionals and semi-professionals is always helpful. For a more general public, there’s always something intriguing about something unpolished in its early stages, it’s a more participatory rather than a simply passive experience.

The call for performances is open through an application process until the 8th January.
